The Traws Eryri is a 225km off road cycling trail from Machynlleth on the edge of Southern Eryri to Conwy on the North Wales coast.
You'll ride past the highest mountain ranges in Eryri (formerly Snowdonia) traverse deep sided valleys and ride through forests with single track trails fit for a king.
You will ride along ancient roads that pass by deserted slate mines and quarries steeped in industrial history.
It's an amazing journey through Wales that is as wild and rugged as the high peaks you will pass under...
Our Traws Eryri route is based on the forthcoming 'Cycling UK' long distance off-road trail from Machynlleth to Conwy. The route in its entirety is 225km (140 miles) long and takes in a mix of natural and manmade trails as it visits each mountain bike trail centre along route; ClimachX, Coed Y Brenin, Penmachno, Gwydyr Forest. In addition to the man made trails, we ride through the Dyfi Forest, traverse Cadair Idris, cruise along the Mawddach Estuary, the ancient Sarn Helen, Llyn Crafnant, Ogwen Valley and Sychnant before descending to the finish from Conwy Mountain. EPIC.
The route is wild and remote in many parts, and with over 6700m (22,000ft) of climbing, it's no easy task! Especially with some trail centre goodness thrown in along the way.
Our 4 day ride has everything covered. Good quality accommodation in Machynlleth, Dolgellau, Ffestiniog, and Capel Curig. Breakfast and evening meals, vehicle support (cake!) and return back to Machynlleth at the finish are all included, meaning you just need to rock up and ride without the hassle of organising logistics of kit and transfers, that's our job!
