TRAWS ERYRI

The Traws Eryri is a 225km off road cycling trail from Machynlleth on the edge of Southern Eryri to Conwy on the North Wales coast.

You'll ride past the highest mountain ranges in Eryri (formerly Snowdonia) traverse deep sided valleys and ride through forests with single track trails fit for a king.

You will ride along ancient roads that pass by deserted slate mines and quarries steeped in industrial history.

It's an amazing journey through Wales that is as wild and rugged as the high peaks you will pass under...

Our Traws Eryri route is based upon Cycling UK's long distance off-road trail from Machynlleth to Conwy. The route in its entirety is 225km (140 miles) long and takes in a mix of natural and manmade trails as it visits each of the four mountain bike trail centres along the route; ClimachX, Coed Y Brenin, Penmachno, and Gwydyr Forest.

In addition to the man made trails, you'll ride through Dyfi Forest, traverse Cadair Idris, cruise along the Mawddach Estuary, and climb the ancient Sarn Helen on days one and two. Day three passes Cwm Penmachno, entering the vast Gwydyr Forest, crest Llyn Crafnant before an overnight stop in Capel Curig. Our final day starts with a roll down Ogwen Valley, traversing the North Wales coast before crossing Sychnant Pass, and a final descent down Conwy Mountain to the quay side in Conwy. Simply EPIC.

The route is wild and remote in many parts, and with over 6700m (22,000ft) of climbing. Each day can be challenging both up and down, but also very rewarding for all your effort.
