About the event
E-bikes are rapidly changing the way we explore and experience the outdoors. It's encouraging more people to ride, improving our health and wellbeing both physically and mentally. It's also improved social networks too, e-bike riders joining friends for a ride out, when previously they may have felt they were a burden. E-bike technology has changed dramatically too with new geometry, progressive suspension and extended battery life. You can go further, higher and longer than ever before.
We have tailored a weekend to suit just e-bike riders, giving an opportunity to play, explore and ride some of Elan Valleys hidden and wild gems. But for anyone visiting the area for the first time, you could be fooled into hitting the sport/turbo mode a little too often, ending your day short. We guide and coach you around the valley, when to use eco, when a little more assist would be needed, when to really turn it up, and where to shut off, extending your battery life and more importantly, your fun!
From our base in Rhayader, charging points will be set up on the racks or on the workbench of our accommodation with on hand support all weekend.
We base our weekends in the heart of Rhayader, comfortable accommodation, fine food and good ale. From here we ride straight out of the door toward the west and the Elan Valley. Steep sided valleys and reservoirs amongst a vast expanse of wilderness that's often referred to as the green desert of mid Wales. The trails are a mixture of grassy and rocky bridleways, long climbs and fast flowing descents. There is of course the occasional river crossing!
An epic weekend of riding in and around Elan Valley is something special, and this weekend will give you the most of what the area has to offer. Note, riders should be prepared to be out on the bike from approx 9am until 5pm, and have a good base fitness.
